There is a 'battery box' and an illustration of that being 'charged' with an adaptor, but I need to get some suitable batteries first (UM-1's) or 'D type' if you prefer the European designation Smile

Similarly the Tomy one although it has a transformer actually charges rechargeable batteries in both the control station and the train as i understand it...

Ok, latest batch of goodies for Super's judgement and no setup videos just for AC Smile

First off a nice Kato N Gauge set of the 'Sonic' express;

Then we have a whole bunch of PlaRail Advance (10 sets in total);

Next up some B Train Shortys;

Then some Bandai 'ZZ Train' sets;

A TomyTec N Gauge Thomas set - I'm not sure if this is the one Sun has already, but this goes with the other one I have. These can also like the 'shortys' be motorised and in fact I've got a motor/bogie/connector set for either this or the other set (need to get another set of motor etc... to do both);

Finally I had two boxes of Kato 'N Gauge' track, two different radius curves to go with the other track I got to get a layout up and running;

There were a few other bits and bobs such as a PlaRail DVD which someone bundled with one of the Advance trains, I'll have a look at it and if its interesting will see if I can rip and upload it for you guys Smile

nice stuff there, nigels. yes, that tomytec is the same as i first one i got. mine wont be powered though.

do you have all of the advance trains now? looking forward to assembled photos of the b-trains, if you put them together. Smile

I'd love to but property prices here are stupid money for what you get, may have to build a shed instead maybe lol!!

Have you seen/got the other Tomytec Thomas one sun? That's quite nice too, but not quite as colourful, hence why I may motorise this one first. Or maybe I might just get bogies for the other one and have a 4 car train after all they are the same or similar class so should work together nicely Smile

I have nearly all the Advance trains now, the only ones outstanding are the E7 shine and the new Evangelion 500 - I unfortunately missed the reservation on hobby search for the latter, the E7 can be got as a IR remote control version so may have to get that at some point.

I've actually got way more than a set of Advance loco's as I have almost a complete new set and a bunch of 2nd hand ones I got as 'job lots' off Jauce Smile

Really looking forward to getting them all going on a layout at some point - just finding time and space lol!!

Oh and yes I do intend to assemble all the shorty's at some point, I've got 4 x 2 car sets built and motorised now, just about to start building a 9 car cassiopia but waiting on some special bogies for it Smile

yes, i have both, nigels. the rainbow one was released first, and several years ago if i remember right. i recall seeing one on ebay for something like $150. thank goodness for jauce and hobbysearch!!

The other place (surprisingly) to find that sort of thing cheaper than eBay is Amazon, you often get sellers in their marketplace selling these sort of items at prices not much more than those on Jauce. So always worth a look as it cuts down on shipping costs etc... Smile

ive found the amazon intl shipping to be on par with ebay, sadly. was looking at a book a little while ago, and they quoted shipping at about $30NZD. used to buy heaps from them, but the shipping has shot up.

That's interesting to hear, I notice on amazon.com that a lot of the japanese marketplace sellers quote shipping, but on the amazon.co.uk site it is very rare, usually they offer free shipping. No doubt that is built into the cost, but if so they still sell very reasonably Smile
