Here is the Press Release for the Ancient Egypt Adventure Set. The first paragraph says:
"Tomy Co., Ltd. (President: Kantaro Tomiyama) is pleased to announce the 42nd anniversary of its release of the railway toy "Plarail". In addition, "Plarail Ancient Egypt Adventure Set", which is the first product concept of a fictitious world, will be on sale from August 9, 2001."
It goes on to describe the set contents and how it plays, and suggests that it will be the first in a series of Time Travel adventure sets.

Too bad there doesn't seem to be any more of the Time Travel Adventures...at least I don't recall any and since this Egypt set was released in 2001 I have to assume they discarded the idea of continuing the series. Disappointing since a fictitious Time Travel Adventures would be cool especially if the trains were all different and imaginative,

Lol...This was actually a horrifically difficult video to make. Whatever we tried, or could possibly go wrong did. It took forever and wasn’t really much fun, and honestly he and I were just happy to have gotten through it and were done!!
