RE: Converting Harvey into a DMU - ROCKINATOR - 04-06-2015 That rake of annie and clarabel coaches are impressive my friend! And there is always a need for straight tracks that's about the only downfall that scale modelling seems to 1up us on. They always seem to have nice lots of straight track and fewer curves. RE: Converting Harvey into a DMU - George_Gipping - 04-06-2015 Yes, poor Henry only just managed to haul them up and down the gradients around the daffodils... though I dare say his battery may not have been at 100%. I bought the carriages in a job lot from ebay, they all had broken couplings but they were very cheap and easy to fix. I'm thinking of doing them all in a livery, but I'm not sure if it is worth the effort. What I really want is a very long rake of Gordon express coaches, but my goodness they are expensive. I need more straight track...! RE: Converting Harvey into a DMU - Super - 04-06-2015 You can usually get the Gordons express coaches pretty cheap, used, and in multiples, from the Yahoo Japan Auctions. I need more straight track...!I've been picking up green and white/cream (colour varies quite a lot) express coaches from Ebay UK for a while at not too great a cost. Mostly in mixed lots with other things rather than in the specific lots offered by the specialist traders who are relatively expensive at about 8 pounds or more each 8 so far, which is probably enough, especially as I recently bagged 4 red and white ones (which are still in the mail somewhere); looking forward to getting those - big time! Reference to my purchases spreadsheet (no comments please!) suggests that the average price paid per green & white coach, including postage, is 4.23 UKL (6.32 USD). Not bad. I'm keeping quiet on how much I paid for the red & white ones, in case my partner should stumble across this RE: Converting Harvey into a DMU - Super - 04-06-2015 (04-06-2015, 11:45 AM)chrisjo Wrote: I'm keeping quiet on how much I paid for the red & white ones, in case my partner should stumble across this |
