So the gear isn't really a gear at all, just a means for rewinding the tape....odd. What I also find odd is that I would have assumed that the tape would show something about McDonalds. Thanks Leyland

So I got another 2 Bertie with different shades. It is hard to tell but I can assure they have different shades.

It is possible that there are berties come with different shades of red as they were made in different years based on the chassis. By the way the red wheel cover fell off on one of the buses as the other side has the red wheel cover.

Is the one on the left darker? Looks like they may have been produced or assembled in two different places as the stamped numbers on the bottom are different and in a different place.

RE: Leyland Victory 2 collection - leylandvictory2 - 01-11-2020

that is correct. the one on the left is darker.

So if finally got my hands on the S-34 trains.  not bad aside from the clearance issue.  The only advice I can give people is don't break the coupling, it will be difficult to repair it from the looks of it.

Leyland

Your video has got to be the best review on YouTube showing just how these long Car Carriers function on the rails. This also proves you original, pre-release thoughts, about these running on double wide tracks. Nice work and thanks for the video.

I never opened mine as I sold them off but from the videos I have watched I had assumed that replacing couplings would be different but I thought it looked like those trucks and pivot came off with 4 screws each from underneath, is that not the case?

Question:
Do the Wheel Trucks actually lift off of the rails when traversing the slopes? At the 2:30 minute mark.

RE: Leyland Victory 2 collection - leylandvictory2 - 02-08-2020

yes to couplings are located underneath the panel secured by 4 screws.  Based on my experiences with repairing couplings, it is best to leave it alone unless I have to replace the coupling.

yes the first set of the wheels in the first truck did lift off the rails hence the engine had a hard time for a couple of seconds to climb the slope.

Thanks Leyland for the in depth review.

Aside from having a flickr page to post my collections as well as the ones my nephew owns, I created a wiki style kinda format in case anybody is interested in the origin of the trackmaster rolling stock.

The website is up and running and under construction:

if you have photos or info you would like to share pleases pm me thanks.
