This is what they are, but transforms into a larger robot.
They do not need to be assembled from small parts.

Sorry, except for what you guys show here about them I don't know much about Transformer characters and the movies and since I didn't see the word or anything related to the franchise on the box but it did say "Robot" I thought maybe it was one of those new fangled robotic Robots.
