In the video I had assumed that some of the powered cars were off because of the position of the switches.

Could be Super, but the one I've tried definitely doesn't freewheel, but there again maybe he's moded them to do so, it seems the fast ones have been moded in some ways

Since it's sold in Daiso, the range varies quite a bit. Last time I checked they had so many D51 carriages and the locomotive and bridges. Every time I go it changes which makes it difficult to collect the full range.
I don't own any though.

Hey it's all good mate in my opinion, you can get so much for so little in comparison to the Tomy stuff and it means you can give this to the kids and keep the Tomy to yourself
