RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Ucwepn - 09-14-2019 Going to do some work on the layout today for the first time in months, my housemate is away on holidays so it's a great time to reorganize everything so it's accessible and to create a better work space for reviewing and fixing etc. I have a literal pile of broken trains to repair and new and older locos to review. Waiting on my new audio recorder too so I can start making content again stay tuned! RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Engineer Bob - 09-15-2019 Awesome, please post pictures on your progress. Ed and I spent time working on this today for his next video. It's a little early for the season but we needed to start getting ideas together. RE: What did you do to your trains today? - AOF04 - 09-15-2019 Very nice Bob. I like the addition of the snow, really looks good. RE: What did you do to your trains today? - MuddyPoppins - 09-15-2019 Very nice... What are the rock faced, snow covered elevated features that are being substituted for risers? Did you make them? They look great and they’re very cleverly used!! RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Super - 09-15-2019 @Ucwepn Woo Hoo! How exciting to hear that you are getting motivated to produce some more videos for all to enjoy. There is a whole new generation for you to turn on to your channel and this hobby just like you have done for us. Must be starting your spring season down under and nice weather to spend time in the shed. Look forward to seeing and hearing new videos for the Ucwepn Channel. @Engineer Bob Wow Bob, the children are going to love a layout from you this Holiday season. Very nicely done. Like Muddy, I am curious if those rock outcrops are made by you out of foam as I think you have mention before doing that. I like the look of using the tan Trackmaster track and associated risers in your winter scene better that the blue Tomy track and yellow risers. They have a softer look with a winter scene. Looks great! RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Engineer Bob - 09-15-2019 Thanks. Yes I made the rock formations. They were originally for a Lionel layout that I had Christmas Village houses on, which is why they are somewhat square-ish. They are made from Perma "R" foam that you can get from your local big-box hardware store here in the US. I believe they are for insulating garage doors. They are just a little thicker than a single riser. A pack of six is about $8.50. The rock walls in the background are made from the same material. Ed will explain a little more in his video, but here's a picture of them from their original use. I hadn't finished the detailing when these were taken but they show the foam boards nicely. RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Off The Rails - 09-15-2019 Engineer Bob, thanks for those photos! I’m also trying to get an early start on my Christmas layout but man, I’m bogged down. What did you use for your snow cover? |
