RE: WOOHOO! Its Been A Long Time - Mister No - 11-15-2021 Oh, come on! Your new Ginza Metro Set would look so great on those bridges!! ![]() ![]() RE: WOOHOO! Its Been A Long Time - Super - 11-15-2021 WowWee...look at this hard to find gem that appeared from the big box of goodies....the Original C-11 with the rare Dark Purple Express Coaches. in original box and track, I love it. ![]() ![]() RE: WOOHOO! Its Been A Long Time - Mister No - 11-15-2021 Wow, it's the old "My Home Town" series... My favourite from that series would be the 813 series train! ![]() ![]() There was a series of videos from a guy who collected them all (My Hometown sets), but it seems (of course) I can't find it now on YT...? RE: WOOHOO! Its Been A Long Time - Super - 11-15-2021 Looking at the box, it seems there were 6 of these Home Town Sets released as it shows six Loops of track (one loop for each set) that can all be connected. Except for this C-11, the others are all Commuters. ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: WOOHOO! Its Been A Long Time - Mister No - 11-15-2021 Oh, here I found it! All trains in that series are shown on this channel. The boxes are opened one by one (starting with the steam train) and each time a new loop is added and connected to the others in the way shown on the box itself. Its Been A Long Time - chrisjo - 11-15-2021 To just add a little more detail, the 'My Home Town's Train Set' series were released Nov 26th, 2002, and are: Hokkaido 北海道 East Japan 東日本 Tokai 東海 ![]() ![]() ![]() West Japan 西日本 Shikoku 四国 Kyushu 九州 ![]() ![]() ![]() When the rails in the six sets are connected together as shown, the resulting layout is intended to represent the islands/regions that comprise the Japanese archipelago. ![]() ![]() Page from 2003 Catalogue: ![]() RE: WOOHOO! Its Been A Long Time - Super - 11-16-2021 Thank you fellas...I sure didn't know all that. ![]() And....a couple more from the box... ![]() RE: WOOHOO! Its Been A Long Time - Super - 11-16-2021 Sure wish they still made these super sets... ![]() RE: WOOHOO! Its Been A Long Time - chrisjo - 11-16-2021 That's the JR Kyushu Special Set that has the unique 883 srs with a yellow nose. ![]() The 787 and the 883 also differ from the regular ones in the detail on the lower body below 'footplate' level. RE: WOOHOO! Its Been A Long Time - Super - 11-17-2021 So do you know if this is set the only way to get the Yellow Nosed 883? |
