RE: FfarquharDeveloper's TrackMaster Customs - Super - 02-06-2021 Very nice work Ffar. What are your next projects? RE: FfarquharDeveloper's TrackMaster Customs - DalaGStanator - 02-06-2021 I love that pedestal for priming and painting. How do those clamps hold the objects being primed/painted without too many (visible) supports, and were they included with it? It looks very helpful, so I'd like to know more. If I hadn't seen the yellow dome, red chassis (not the frame) and no stickers, I would've legit thought I was looking at the original. Then again, the livery is a no brainer to imitate once you figure out how (and where) the black parts should be and how to apply them. Spot on, as predicted. Spencer: - Masked and ready for a repaint in silver. That's something I've been considering trying to do ever since I saw Ucwepn's repaint, but I've held back from it due to fear of messing up the tender lining and nameplates (the latter of which are metallic [foil?], extremely thin and hard to reposition). My Spencer is now chiefly a placeholder Henry, which is another reason why I'm not doing it yet. Unless I'd just wrap him in aluminium foil/use a silver paint pen, I hope seeing your take will give me a bit more confidence. Looking forward to the repainted OSC as well. RE: FfarquharDeveloper's TrackMaster Customs - FfarquharDeveloper - 02-06-2021 Rusty's face wasn't shrunk yet, it's still the same size right now. He and James are still awaiting a few more details. RE: FfarquharDeveloper's TrackMaster Customs - FfarquharDeveloper - 02-07-2021 Updated the thread to have the 3rd update RE: FfarquharDeveloper's TrackMaster Customs - Super - 02-07-2021 I am kind of anxious to see how these turn out. RE: FfarquharDeveloper's TrackMaster Customs - FfarquharDeveloper - 02-07-2021 2/7/21 Update 1 Derek: Completed with the addition of a few minor details and a temporary face sculpted from Milliput. Spencer: Resprayed with Testors Metallic Silver and waiting for some minor details. Rusty: Sprayed in Yellow and Gold to complete the paint job, now it's just a matter of downscaling the face. Lady: Gold was all repainted in Testor's Metallic Gold and the face was repainted with Acrylics. RE: FfarquharDeveloper's TrackMaster Customs - Super - 02-07-2021 How many more are you working on Ffar? I see you paid tribute to how the producers labeled the screen used face casts. I can't find real photos for comparison anymore, but I got it instantly. Even if it's "temporary", I'm happy to see a face for him after such a long time. I still think he would look better with fake bogie frames to make the original wheels harder to see. How did you leave the original foil (?) nameplates totally intact? Surely masking them would've made them fall off immediately, and scratching a paint layer would've been sure to peel off the print. Unless you peeled them off with a tool and put them on a sheet before reapplying them. Please show me in case I ever proceed with my own repaint. Regarding the black borders on the tender: I would've suggested masking the originals in two different ways to keep the exact shape (covering the borders first and then around them). The positioning is perfect, but the top and bottom lines are a bit off. Either way, he turned out better than the Season 7 colour. About time I've seen one with the face repainted to look like her actual one. Maybe the pupils could've been left as they were, but the eyebrows are definitely better. The separate window stickers are also better than the original single one and less likely to be affected. All she just needs now is the tail lamp. Good job on all of them. |
