Don't you just love when you receive items that were listed as "Junk" or "Don't Work" only to find that a little cleaning, tweek or rap of a screwdriver handle fixes them right up. Absolutely. I love opening the packages but getting these things back up and going is a wonderful feeling as well. When you can sell a few to recoup some of the cost it is even better. RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Ucwepn - 02-21-2017 Unboxed, modified (for blue track) and filmed Trackmaster 2 Salty today. RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Super - 02-21-2017 Thats supposed to be Salty? RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Ucwepn - 02-21-2017 Yep lol very box like, good repaint custom fodder though I think RE: What did you do to your trains today? - ROKMAN1445 - 02-21-2017 All the buyers chose to be one engine, salty. RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Ucwepn - 03-01-2017 Day 1 of my secret project, much harder than I thought hope to have a mock up by tonight, lots of cutting, gluing and sacrifices are being made haha, carry on RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Super - 03-01-2017 Secret Project...exciting RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Off The Rails - 03-01-2017 Hmmm.... Secret project? I'm intrigued! I'm having trouble deciding how to do a defaced Dennis. The real 11001 had a fairly simple, unadorned front but I like the idea of a detailed front. Kinda like Super did on his Menace conversion. Also, my son decided to trade me his Salty for a new Trackmaster 2 version so now I have to decide how to convert him too! I'll probably just add a radiator grill of some kind but the idea of a GP7/9 tribute is still in the back of my mind. Anyway, I did the exploratory surgery on both and now they're all back together while I decide what comes next! RE: What did you do to your trains today? - Super - 03-01-2017 I found it a lot easier modifying Salty than Dennis because of the odd angle front of Dennis. In fact I find my "Menace" is one of my least favorite work of all my customs and might revisit him in the future. On the other hand, my "Salt Substitute" (green Salty) is one of my favorites. Tramp also has a custom red Salty which had inspired me. Salty's flat, multi-part front and rear seem to offer so many customizing possibilities. With Dennis, I feel like a custom toy version of the South Park Underpants Gnomes: 1- Deface; 2- ????; 3- Custom! |
