I got a DD51 to make into Derek the diesel. I got this in an eBay auction for £3.20 in total with shipping it was £6.70 it was sold as spares/repairs and It was 'broken' well I replaced the coupler that broke the bid was intense as one bidder put a 2.99 bid but I came in last second with a 3.20 bid so I won. I jump started the motor and it runs like never before

in the inside it says J08 meaning this one was made in 2008

why am I modifying this unit well it is because I want Derek and also due to its cheap price I can do that. It may fetch a high price on eBay but if I really wanted another one I will just get the 2018 or the 2022 reissue of the model but for now i don't need it.

while on vacation I found these 100 years of Disney cruisin McQueen at carrefour and I decided to buy 2 as they were pretty cheap (cheaper than eBay)

and I got 2 as I wanted to open one and keep one in the box

I didn't get nothing but I was walking through the fair and there's the usual suspects and those are bootlegs you know the puppies the toys that become broken in minutes of play and I saw a Thomas bootleg this one is Byron from the take along range but plastic also he was bigger in size and has the number 2. and after 6 minutes or so of research I found them and its called 'assemble trains' and there's 2 Edwards and a green Harvey. There aren't that many Thomas knockoffs or bootlegs around but when there are its funny there's paw patrol Pokemon Mario etc been ripped off but not Thomas. But you know that's what I saw and some mcqueens that looked creepy with the numbers on the front.

To say that's just "incorrect" would be a scrapyard of an understatement. Thomas has just about as many forms of fake merchandise, if not more than the other three IPs you mentioned. It was, still is and will be one of the most frequently targeted IPs of all time among bootleg toy/board game/amusement ride companies over the last two-three decades. Just watch Leokimvideo's Dark Side series, look up anything Thomas related on subreddits like AwesomeOffbrands and CrappyOffbrands (if you have access to Reddit) or go to any East Asian website that sells children's products - and you'll see for yourself. In fact: as early as 1985 (the year after the TV series premiered), Britt Allcroft had to address the matter and Leicester Mercury published this:

Thanks for the information but what i meant by that was there aren't many in spain from what i saw. But there is a boatload of them i would say that cars gets Just as ripped if not more today than thomas. In the 00's and 2010's it was large the amount of bootlegs of thomas but not much in the 2020's i predict.
