are they stamped HiT or tomy underneath? Year?

I noticed A Lot of the initial HiT toy line was just repackaged Tomy trains some of them being sold pretty much up until Fisher Price took over and there are a lot of HiT toys line that is Labeled Tomy right on the packaging yet it shows brown track, this majorly confused me when I recently started collecting the Tomy Thomas range.

So HiT didn't make a steam along Thomas that is any different than the tomy version correct?

RE: very rare vs rare vs htf trains - Gerisplarail1 - 03-04-2015

I do not now anything about this but from what I know of other HiT Tomy repackaging the train itself is Tomy, I do not know if there are subtle differences like HiT logo stamped on the bottom or what ever but otherwise it should be the exact same as Tomy's steam along. i am sure you own HiT Tomy repackages does HiT put its own markings on the Tomy trains? @"Muddy Poppins"

I doubt they do...most my hit stuff is sealed BNIB though so I'm not looking..lol

There are only two different Thomas trains that steam..the metallic tomy/hit and the plarail/Tomy non-metallic original.

I am pretty sure from the looks of that picture its just the Tomy Steam Along in Transitional packaging as the line was dropped by Tomy in Non-Asian markets. so unless you need it for the package variation its nothing special.

ok but lets try to keep it focused. we all have had different experiences obtaining our trains. just because one has one or doesn't... does not dictate rare or not. what I or we should try to accomplish is AVAILABILITY.

maybe we should start by using wikia going down in order?

Well Trevor, a lot of us can tell availabity/even exists? By how often they are found on eBay, Jauce and others. Steam thomas for example. He's not common to find on eBay, but not rare either. You will occasionally see him. Monty on the other hand could be a myth. None of us have seen him on eBay before.

I hear you. hope I'm not coming across as rude. not my intention. just trying to create a universal list. for experienced or non-experienced. young or old.

this discussion has already shed light. imagine what we can do together with further colaboration

HiT flip face flip load Toby, HiT Lost and found Talking Hiro would have to be right up there, Toby was only available in the Sodor copper mine set for a short while.
