Yeah that set was around 99-2001, I've seen that one. I got my original ones around 90-91, so unfortunately, the selection was quite limited, I wasn't even aware of the Super Rail station, or the steam locomotive until more recently!

I do wish they'd bring the line back, sadly, the present day Mattel utterly despises trains, as evidenced by their handling of the Thomas franchise...

Mattel like all FP brands despises the customers of most of their products, even the hot wheels range is suffering these days, more and more plastic every month...

I set some of them up here, but I think I will need some more straight tracks... I've wanted to double head the diesels like that for a long time!

That one blue car is from the set I had as a kid, and it shows!

Got this today:

Mostly bought it for the engine, already have several of the flatcars and cabeeses. I like the BN livery on the engine, would have liked to have gotten a matching BN boxcar but whatev's. The engine is a DB class 111, which is an interesting choice for an electric engine... Not sure if they intended it to be an AEM-7, or a mix between that and a GN Z-1, but it is quite an odd engine at any rate...
