i wonder if the III relates to wave 3? the backs have either 1 or 2 on them, and there are two different versions of the 2, with different minis shown.

The number in the coloured 'splat' could refer to a wave...

Looks like the more difficult second and fourth lines (with more complicated characters that I can't see very clearly in them) aren't going to yield anything very interesting, so I'll leave it at that.
