RE: Another RARE set? - Ucwepn - 08-09-2016 What a wonderful set! This was the last electronic staff protected single track section in Melbourne, located in Eltham. Here's a freight train doing the staff shuffle I like that it has different names around the world even in NZ which are our neighbors ![]() RE: Another RARE set? - MuddyPoppins - 08-09-2016 (08-09-2016, 07:54 PM)sunhuntin Wrote: thats a neat set, and the fact it comes with a tablet holder [the kiwi version of track clearance] is even better. i dont have one, but wish i did, just for that! Well if it wasn't you it was another BPT member... Within the last year we had a post about this set and I'm pretty sure it was shared here!?! Anyone remember? So then this is the same as what Plarnold referred to as a "Railway Token"? RE: Another RARE set? - sunhuntin - 08-09-2016 the tablet here was a round disc, a bit smaller than a dvd, but thicker. the tablet holder was a hoop that would fit nicely over an arm hung out a window to collect it, like shown in wepns video. we have one at the club that is bamboo with a buckle to put the tablet on. another club im not quite a member of has a couple of exchange machines, but i dont know how they work. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyer%27s_Electric_Train_Tablet i have seen tablet use in action at a private railway with only one length of track. i dont think they do it very often, since its pretty fool proof. [one track, two engines with either one away at a time]. i think they did it at a special event where they had a tour group coming especially, so went for the whole authentic actions. this didnt have the use of machines, just the drivers handing the hoop back and forth. RE: Another RARE set? - Super - 08-09-2016 Is this the only Plarail model you have seen with the hoop holder? Muddy Poppins found the old thread where we had discussed this set http://www.blueplastictracks.com/showthread.php?tid=1276&pid=21834#pid21834 |
