RE: new track master revolution mods - Nigels - 05-08-2016 Indeed, I'll give it some thought RE: new track master revolution mods - mad - 05-11-2016 (05-08-2016, 02:07 PM)Super Wrote: My suggestion is to skip the higher voltage mod as that entails more work and just try an upgraded motor which should give you more speed. Even more that the Plarails and original Trackmaster due to the gearing and the fact that Revolutions uses 3 volts. Not sure how much an upgraded motor will drain those two little AAA batteries. Deffinately right about space. i sized up a 4xAA pack I had here before I ordered the 4xAAA pack. It's rough guess but if I chop out the support work under the model top and the centre rail of the exisiting 2x pack the 4x pack should sit snug under the model. all irelevant until those little packs get here. But on what you were suggesting about the motors I did start looking and have thought about just a simple swap instead. All just waiting on parts and time - and the willingness of my son to let me take a dremel to his beloved toy lol RE: new track master revolution mods - Ucwepn - 05-11-2016 This is the video where I did (I presume) the worlds first motor swap in a Trackmaster Revolution. RE: new track master revolution mods - mad - 05-11-2016 was that the 19000rpm motor? damn glad I didn't go and order the hyper at 25000 I might get the el cheapo $1 8000rpm chinese models RE: new track master revolution mods - Ucwepn - 05-11-2016 Yeah that sounds right for the rpm of the power dash, the problem is they are a direct drive basically so there is no gear reduction to slow it down or turn it into tractive power. Perhaps a light dash would be best I think they are the slowest motor from tamiya while still being an upgrade. |
