Shipping is indeed expensive. Being down at the bottom (top) of the world sure costs.

Give it another six months and I reckon the prices of 3D printers and more importantly the filament will start to plummet, there are already indications of this happening as I've recently seen entry level models around the £300 mark. Once that happens I can see myself investing in one to produce all these little nick-nacks like the couplings, etc...
