Hi friends! Long time no talk! Here's a link to this year's Christmas layout. It was about 90% finished when the video was taken.

Hi Bob,
Good to see you back with this years Xmas Layout in the basement of your Church. I would be willing to bet there are many who look forward to your annual Xmas display and to see what is new. You put smiles on the kids faces and I bet the adults too. I absolutely love the City buildings, are they something new this year? Thanks for thinking of us and coming back here to share 👍

Good to talk with you again Super. The city buildings are simply made from cardstock. Very easy to make. I got them from this site:

Oh, I should mention all of the plastic city buildings are from the Matchbox Action Drivers line. They continue to make new sets that interlock together.

You did a wonderful job creating those. I love them. I take it the Card Stock is not included in the kits. From what I can tell from the site, you purchase the PDF files and print out using an Ink Jet Printer? Could find any how toos on the site as it looks like detailed instructions come within the PDF. When you speak of 'Cardstock' what exactly is that...cardboard...foamboard?

RE: 2024 Christmas Layout - Engineer Bob - 12-19-2024

Yes, you download the files and then print the pieces out. They are actually made for wargames, and are made so you can fold them flat when you are done. I opted to make them a little more robust and not foldable. Cardstock is #110 paper. around the same thickness as the paper used in Christmas Cards. I've been wanting to print up a couple more buildings. After the holidays I'll try to record a quick video of how to put them together.

RE: 2024 Christmas Layout - Super - 12-19-2024

A video would be cool. Do you print right on the cardstock or regular paper and then paste onto the card?

RE: 2024 Christmas Layout - Engineer Bob - 12-19-2024

I generally print right on the cardstock since I have access to a printer that can handle it. But there are times in the past when I've printed on regular paper and then glued it to the cardstock either with spray adhesive or a simple glue stick.

excellent, Thank you Bob 😊

Such an impressive layout! Love how spread out it is. That line with roller coaster mountain is my favorite part of the layout.
