BlueKool's Mod Yard - BlueKool - 01-11-2022 I've decided to make a thread of my TOMY/TrackMaster engines, regarding the ones that I've modified and customized. So, to start things off, here's Peter Sam! The first image is how he was when I got him, the next two show the chassis modifications, and the last two show the window details I added in. His siderods are the normal ones, except I colored half of them with a sharpie. I also used the sharpie to do the window details. His middle wheels are from the front wheels of a TM2 chassis, and I cut a bit of the top off to avoid making them stick out more than the rear and front wheels on Peter Sam. To remove his fake siderods and extend his half axles, I used a nail cutter (I don't have a pair of pliers), and I used a filing tool, to remove the remains of the fake siderods on the shell. Minor note I forgot: the middle wheels are held by Blu-Tack. I plan to replace it with superglue in the future. . RE: BlueKool's Mod Yard - DalaGStanator - 01-12-2022 Welcome to Blue Plastic Tracks, BlueKool. That's the exact same quick method I imagined for the coupling rods. They just need the round bits where the middle (rear driving) wheels are to look like they're fitted to them. Even though they make much smaller rotations at the middle points, it technically gives a better illusion than the "Oliver style" like FfarquharDeveloper's. Looking forward to seeing your other plans. RE: BlueKool's Mod Yard - Super - 01-12-2022 Nice work Blue and nice to see you here at BPT's RE: BlueKool's Mod Yard - BlueKool - 06-10-2022 So sorry I was gone for a while... Had to deal with some high-school stuff. Anyways, here's some more mods I did, starting with Skarloey! Skarloey has been given moving siderods (which used to be on Peter Sam), a new nameplate (the original one was chipping off), slight lining updates (same reason as the nameplate), and mouth detail! Rheneas (with correct paintjob, moving siderods, sharpie details, and new decals) Peter Sam Updated (New siderods, black running board, mouth detail, and best of all, his Special Funnel!) RE: BlueKool's Mod Yard - PerkyHydrAan - 06-10-2022 Those siderods look marvelous! RE: BlueKool's Mod Yard - Super - 06-10-2022 Glad to have you back B-Kool, your Customs are Awesome! RE: BlueKool's Mod Yard - BlueKool - 06-11-2022 Here's an attempt at an "realistic" version of Rusty. I had a childhood one that wasn't in the best condition, so I restored it with a new paintjob, and added details using sharpie, white and yellow paint pens, and even weathering out of black paint mixed with water. His face is printed on paper, but I plan to replace it with a Wooden Railway or Take Along one. His bufferbeam was sadly broken, so I made a new one using a piece of cardboard with buffers drawn on by sharpie. I also gave him a front coupling too. The spot where his original face was has been filled in with blu-tack with sharpie and black paint over it. RE: BlueKool's Mod Yard - Super - 06-12-2022 Nice work B-Kool RE: BlueKool's Mod Yard - BlueKool - 06-27-2022 I finally got the knockoff Duncan from Aliexpress. I have plans to make him look as close to his IRL basis (Douglas on the Talyllyn Railway) as much as possible. But for now, I just gave him sharpie details: I also did an update on Rheneas' siderods: RE: BlueKool's Mod Yard - Super - 06-28-2022 Nice work B-Kool 👍 |
