Hello everyone!!
This Thread is dedicated to my Gauge 1 Thomas Replica!!! It will be updated every Saturday, so today I received the first Batch of parts, I also met @SmokeyJoeModeler!! An honor to meet someone from the community in person!! I also saw his w.i.p Gauge 1 Thomas!! He gave so many suggestions I am so grateful for!! But enough of that here’s the main attraction

The running board has been fully sanded, but it’s raining, I am ecstatic to have this with me, I can also see that a Gauge 1 Thomas is BIG!! Don’t let the size judge you!

Oh yeah! If anyone is interested.. I will be selling this Thomas by June as I will be making one out of acrylic

That's a pretty ambitious task you've decided to undertake. I wish you good luck in building the model and selling it!
Train it, plane it, you name it!

Forgive my Train ignorance but what is a 'Gauge 1"?

1:32 scale (as used in the show between 1984-2008). Bigger than O Gauge, but a bit smaller than the old Lionel "wide"/"standard" gauge.

Yes, at 1:32 scale, gauge 1 is the MOROP (the European federation of national model railway associations) equivalent of the NMRA (National Model Railroad Association) 3/8in gauge.

There is no traditional UK equivalent, Britain has tended to use its own distinctive model railway scales for historical reasons driven by its Victorian network origins which left us with a very restrictive loading gauge, narrower and lower than in the rest of Europe with the same standard gauge track.

So can I then assume that Gauge 1 is what the models were in the filming of the original series before animation?
