vintage tomy engine and driver set question

9 Replies, 4277 Views

hey gang,

just stumbled on a listing that includes a boxed engine and driver from the europark set. can anyone confirm if they were ever actually sold like this, or has someone reused the box?

i have only ever seen the red and green steamers, and the white and red diesel boxed, never any of the exclusive locos/drivers.

thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure I have a complete listing and picture of every Tomy Train / Tomy Trains item and its box(es), and I've never seen that one.

I am not a big help...not sure what it looks like and you know much more than I about the vintage Tomy trains.

thats about what i thought... the boxes are generic, it was just the plastic liner that changed depending whether diesel or steamer. i found it interesting that it had the correct driver in the box, not one of the standard blue guys.

incidentally, this is the image form the listing. i added the text over the top to try and stop this becoming a "unicorn".

Have you ever seen or heard of that yellow party engine before Sun?

Definitely a re-pack, this is the back of the 1328 box...

As Sun says, it's the engine and driver from the EuroPark set:

I thought the one they pictured was a Europark but that shows you how much I know Undecided

Strange how the driver on the box front has 'Tomy' emblazoned on the front of his shirt but the actual figure in the box looks as if he has Tomy on the front of his cap.

Is 'EuroPark' a real place?

Is Europa Park the same as EuroPark?
