What Did You Get For Christmas?

Hi There Everyone! T-R-Y Here,

And a Merry Christmas to you all! I decided to make this thread as a place for crying to post and show what you got for Christmas, so sit back, relax, and let the holiday spirit overwhelm ya'!

For this Christmas I decided to stray away from Trackmaster. While I still love them, I do not love the redisigns. Because of this, I decided to start something out new:

1. H0 Scale Steam Locomotives!

In this picture, to the left you see an 0-6-0 Shifter with a slope back tender, (sorry for the quality) with working forward and backward headlamps, and engineers that I added into the cab and tender.
Next you see a very similar train, except with a much larger tender. The Smokey Mountain Express 0-6-0. Same as the other one, headlamps each side, and I added engineers on it as well. Next is another 0-6-0, but a bit different. This one has a headlamp at the front, and a huge water tender with a larger dome and much larger pistons. The last one is one of my personal favorites, The Fat Boy! This engine is an 0-4-0 engine based off of the American Class Jupiter except this one has a much larger boiler and funnel, and a different wheel configuration. (0-4-0)

2. H0 Scale Kits and Cars!

This shows a lot of stuff. The little box has a small H0 truck with people loading fruits into it, a scene to add to my layout. You also can see a small 4 axle "Bobber Caboose", and a tanker. Each fitted with a personal figure. Also here is a small flatbed with diesel part crates on it. Also there is a small tanker car loading kit that I shave already assembled and painted.

3. H0 People!
I know I know, I already said this stuff, but here is a better view.

4. More Track Than I Know What To Do With...
I happened to get 2 expansion kits...each with over 50 pieces. Also a small kit that has an auto reverse point to point set up. This literal takes up my whole room, but it's worth it! Not not only to me as you can see! My furry friend likes to sit in the middle and watch it all go down.

5. The Massive Kit!
Last for my Train gifts, I got a kit for H0 Scale trains...the modern coaling tower! This is massive. The box takes up the whole bottom of my bed, an defiantly won't be an easy project, but I'll take the challenge!

Besides all of this I got candy coal (must've been bad Wink , being nitty has never been so sweet I guess!), a Coca-Cola fridge for my room, tools, and a bunch of little stuff!

Defiantly a good Christmas!

What I find most efficient for gluing these kind of model kit (car, building, station etc.) is to glue multiple different pieces during the same session like instead of just gluing two roof pieces for example also glue the conveyer and two walls and the tower top and then progression is much faster and easier (I find anyway)

I agree. I normally build the main parts first, paint them, and assemble the kit. Easier (at least to me)

Wow T-R-Y you hit the jackpot for Xmas. Nice looking trains and accessories. Would be interested in hearing and seeing your thoughts on assembling that great looking Coaling Tower.

I didn't get anything train related for Xmas but I did get a Tablet PC to play with when I am out and about.

Nice Super! I'm currently making the frame for the kit. It's a three building thing that connects all into one big one

Are there a lot of small parts to add? What type of glue and glue applicator do you use?

Tons of em! I use Loctite Gel Super Glue and Testors Cement Glue. They are good for plastic.

When it comes to paint I use plastic adhesive spray on paint. The small cans I prefer as they can make very nice detailing for weathering and stick well to plastic, but take forever to dry! I'm using black, brown, and dark grey currently. The black is for making a coal dust and steam engine smoke effect.
