Playsets coming in 2020 include Knapford , Brendam Docks and a few others . They will be usable by all types .

i would agree with you whole hardly.

and believe me! i wish this to be true!

but big business doesn't work like that.

sure, plarail WILL < i hope anyways> always continue.

but plarail is based in japan. which is fine.

but! here in the states.. fisher price owns the rights.
more than likely, fisher price will diminish the line.
as it has done this particular year.

then the doldrums begin.
of course, i hope to be wrong. maybe fisher price and their respective "creativity team(s)"...
are planning a resurgence.
time will tell.
Sooo, speaking of every line being integrated into one, what's the deal with Thomas Wood? There's a number of trains and sets that have been on hold forever, and they seem to have given up on those and come out with new ones for 2020 instead.
wood thomas products are the most expensive out of the three lines. I only buy wood thomas products if the trackmaster version is not available.

why didn't TMR do this again this year?
coincidence? maybe?
i'm a little out of the loop.

There was a major tentpole release this year. It was the Cave Collapse Set for Digs and Discoveries. The major difference this year from previous years was that there was no 60 minute movie, but a DVD with two 20 minute episodes.

Sadly, Mattel wouldn't want to give up being the primary Thomas toy licensee for their Fisher-Price ranges and give another company like Tomy that position. They've got no one else telling them what they can't do anymore.

I imagine trackmaster is still a lucrative line. The one time character sets always get sold out in matter of months.

Wow, there’s a unique idea! A set with Thomas, Annie and Clarabel. I recall my son having a set with “the ladies” in a non-standard blue color a few years ago and they may have been in the football sets before that. However, I can’t remember the last time Fisher Price did regular, everyday brown Annie and Clarabel. I know my son relied on a well used Tomy set we found at a resell market around five years ago.

as far as i am aware the Annie and Clarabel will be with Thomas in a greatest moments set and not with the track set shown in Mattels image
