Ah I remember my metallic steam along set! That thing was super fast from what I remember.

Too bad it (along with my Toby) stopped working and the motor fell apart.

My biggest gripe with the steam along Thomas is, because it's Annie that is driven & Thomas is pushed, the activation tab for the tracks is positioned under Annie, this makes it totally unsuitable for the playrail auto switching track, Thomas is already across the points before the tab activates the changeover and you end up with a derail,
I do like the sound & steam Thomas but I just think that if it had been thought out a bit better they would have left the tab off completely.

Well, I inspected my own Thomas and it turns out it is in fact the 'no-stripe' variant. Big Grin

I have a ton of these in various states of repair or working order. I will have to take a look and see if any of them are like this. Looks like a great find too from the goodwill, I have found several lots there for some great deals..
One is an Anniversary version that's all I know.
