New Lego Range: Elves

11 Replies, 13730 Views

We've had a few little flirts with Lego on here in recent months, well while out at the shops on Sunday I popped into a store and happened upon a new range I wasn't aware of called 'Elves'.

Now I have to be honest it is a bit 'girly' to some, but at the same time is cute and above all else has DRAGONS Big Grin

The reason I'm mentioning it here? Well I know some members <errr like Super> are building some special layouts for their grand-daughters or like Mr Ripley has a little girl to keep interested so his wife will let him add to his collection <joke Angel> and I think these sets may well interest the little darlings.

So build a layout, decorate with a set or two of these new Lego sets and bingo you'll potentially have a my little pony effect with Dragons instead - the sets even have a free downloadable App to go with them!!

No pics for now as I've not had the chance to build the one I bought to check out the range, but I got 'The Water Dragon Adventure' (set no: 41172) if you want to go look it up!

@Super - Imagine a couple of Dragons with Elves ridding on their backs hovering around your Sleeping Beauty Castle!!! Big Grin

Enjoy!

Not gonna happen. Maybe I can just buy some fairy dragons. I know I will get lambasted for this but I really am not into the Lego pre-determined sets as there is not much imagination for me and the expense...ugh. Now let it be said that I am not saying that buying and building these sets aren't any good, they are just not for me.....Now, back to you regular scheduled programming. The line started last year with the dragon theme being this years gimmick, currently I only own this one but would love to get more: http://brickset.com/sets/41073-1/Naida-s...nture-Ship

We actually have a few of the smaller ones. My daughter likes them for about 5 min, then I always get stuck building them, lol.. Big Grin but it is fun though. I don't know that I could do the larger sets, especially those that AC had done recently.. Huh

I like the idea.. Maybe a nice little village, all pink of course. I only have a few pieces of pink track though, I would have to stock up. Big Grin

This theme was introduced in March 2015 and uses Mini dolls like the ones used for Friends and the Disney Princesses: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Elves

I don't know Super, the little people that come with these sets are not too unlike PlaKids and with Tomy paperising them of late these may offer you options to add to your train people population. Never say never you know what you're like Smile

Meanwhile AC is conspicously absent while he's madly ordering the entire range... Angel

I thought it may interest your little'un Mr Ripley, the people are pretty cool too, less 'lego' brick type people and more like PlaKids so some more passengers for your trains too!! Big Grin

I gave up haunting the Lego shop about 6 months earlier, mainly due to illness, but on the plus side if I'd not I wouldn't have the funds for the trains lol!

ive bought a few of the elves sets, mainly for the trans-colored bricks for use with my winter village. im not a fan of the minidolls, so they get put aside. i also buy certain friends and disney princess, but those sets are essentially nothing but parts packs to me. lol

I know where you're coming from Sun, I've done similar things in the past, but these days with a local Lego store its easier to get special bricks such as say flat topped ones or clear/translucent ones for special effects so I don't have to canibalise sets anymore Smile

These sets though catch my attention because of the dragons more than anythinng, always been a nut for dragons Smile

im jealous... we dont have a lego store here so no pick a brick wall. i do make use of bricklink now and then. usually i buy a set on impulse, after looking at the various parts. the last two i bought were because they had parts i could use in a halloween set up.
