J-18 is rather nice, its a crossing that dings a bell as the train passes over.

I would definitely suggest J-10, if you don't have it, along with R-24, because of how you can spice up areas where you have double track.
J-24's are cool. I think I have 6 of them now, but it really lets you create a nice size train yard which can be nice for storage while still being a key part of the layout.

Single girders are easy to find. In fact you buy a lot of used one at a fairly reasonable price on ebay
