'Train Eye' Videos...

Now I know AC reckons anything without a video is pointless, so maybe this may be something he will like. There's still no video, but I did find this the other day and thought it may interest some of you;

Micro Video Camera

This is an incredibly small video camera/recorder capable of capturing video, the unit is so small you could easily just blue-tack it to the top or front of a PlaRail train, or I suppose remove a train body and bluetack it to the chassis and produce your own 'train-eye' view of your layout as done by some of our other members.

The really nice thing is how cheap these are, around £6.50 including shipping Big Grin The only other thing you'll need is a micro SD card to record onto...

Enjoy!

Had to check this out and found a YouTube video of it comparing it to the Key Chain Cameras some of us are use to. The video was from way back in 2011 so the camera has been out a long time and could explain why its so cheap today from the 37pounds it cost in the video.

Its kinda the nature of these products, the factories in China sell them in bulk, and companies brand them and market them however they wish. Those two wheel stick scooters that were a big faq awhile back are a great example of that, they all came from the same place but depending on the branding you were paying as low as $200 US or as high as $1000+. I have a monopod that cost me $2, the exact same model with a logo on it would cost me $30. Its always wise to shop around when it comes to generic products like this.

Totally true guys, but still cheap enough for a video good enough to keep AC quiet lol

As it happens I picked up another one at the same time, different model, slightly bigger, but much thinner and with a 5mp chip and full 1080 hi-res capture - price? £1 more Smile
