that looks fascinating! i do hope that it doesnt mean every superhero released so far is also going to have their alter ego released now.
i was really hoping for something other than super friends stuff, but will likely pick up at least one if i can.

You can pre-order it to get it at the San Diego Comic-Con in two months time, or like most of us, buy it from the secondary market online. Mattel have an after-party sale however where any remaining products are put up on their online store, and they ship worldwide, so I think it's better than any other way, considering the scalpers out there. I would hate to see any more "human" versions and I am sure they're just one offs. This has to be the last DC mashup item announced for sure, but every time I've said that, there's been something else!
heres hoping it spells the end of the dc mash-ups, like last years exclusive heralded the arrival.
just had a message from toot toot in aussie, they have the motorised playsets in, but they may not be showing online yet. they are keeping one for me.

I'm pretty tired of the DC engines, too, but (along with the upcoming SpongeBob engines) they've been *far* closer to gender parity than the rest of the line. I'd buy an Emily as Diana of Themyscira in a heartbeat, even without a playset to go along with it.
who or what is diana from?
if anyone was curious, this years batman diesel is different to last years, preserving the exclusivity of the dark knight release. since ive only seen the pic jdog was kind enough to share, whether superman is the same or not, i dont know. likely will be though.

I noticed that after a while as well. Looking at the Clark Kent and the comic, it looks like Thomas as Superman will be a dark blue version with red wheels. Lovely to have four new vehicles, and I'm glad they're characters I actually know. I don't think I could bring myself to take the engines out of the box either. The diorama is too impressive. I believe there will be more images from Mattel in a few days.
My searches told me Diana is Wonder Woman's alter ego.
good spotting on the wheels. glad they are making them different, even if only slightly. thanks for the info on diana, too. im no good with the super hero stuff beyond the basics.
i will likely end up doing what i did last year and buy two... one to keep sealed in the tissue paper, and one to open the cover on for display. almost need an automated tipping machine to sit it on so they roll back and forth at shows etc.

I stopped by ToysRUs in Houston today and came across two mini portable playsets. One is called "Ahoy, Mateys!" And the other "Spooktacukar". If someone can tell me a good way to upload photos I can share some bother come with an exclusive train.
