thanks, colesy. appreciate that. wish the guy doing the second video could have slower with his panning. the motorised set looks like a pile of fun, though it seems minis do get stuck in places.
neat to see one can hang from crankys hook, too! good place for diesel 10 muahahaha

I collected all sets and blind bags so far but just to save money, I am only going to try and collect 1 of each. I have the ones that are new in the blind bags in the 2016 releases. I tried to use http://mini.ixbyix.com/
to make sure I don't miss any. My question is: Will someone write a list of "must haves" so I don't get duplicates. The italicized trains on the link is not clear to me. Thanks
I wonder if there is a way to buy the strips of i-beams like in the play set to make a nice display for the minis
what i did was make a spreadsheet by copying and pasting the lists from the thomas minis wiki. then i added columns for blind bag codes, 3, 4, 7 and 8 pack codes, and set exclusives.
i group each type together, and use a different box color for engines im missing. its very confusing at times, but usually, if i keep the info updated, i can match multi pack releases with blind bags and mostly avoid doubles. i used to have columns showing how many releases each character had had, but when it got some reaching 5, i gave it up and removed those. this is a sample of some lines from my file. its not actually as squished up as this, but i had to condense it to fit the word window. if, for example, i was missing thomas, his box would a shade of purple. the number under wave 4 is colored because it was a new release engine that i needed. since i record all numbers, needed or not, i had to have a way to easily identify the ones wanted when ordering. there are a furthur two columns after "advent" for the licensed multipacks. it used to be DC, but with the introduction of spongebob the heading got changed.

I tried to use https://mini.ixbyix.com/ The italics just indicate engines that were originally released in 2015 but got re-released with new blind bag numbers in 2016. So if you've been collecting for a while, you can use the italics as a hint that maybe you've already gotten that engine. For the engines in italics, what I did on my own checklist is check them off in both places, 2015 blind bags *and* 2016 blind bags. So if you already had 73 Charlie from 2015 and you checked it off, then you would also check off 2016 Wave 1's 09 Charlie since you already have Charlie. Then when you're at the store and looking at your checklist you'll know not to get 09 Charlie. At someone's suggestion I also added a "Highlight" button below the blister packs table that will highlight all the blister packs that _only_ have engines you haven't checked off yet. So if you've checked all the engines you have, you can use that button to find the multi-packs that won't give you any duplicates. I hope that helps explain it.
