Airbrushing Experience???

Not important enough to get sick over. I found the Brush Up paper on Ebay and its from a seller in my state. That is a fantastic tool for practice without the mess and odor. I am getting excited about trying it.

No, I didn't know of any, but I do now! It seems you can now get acryllics thinned for airbrush consistency. Here's just one example that says it's 'ready-to-use' straight from the bottle:

That is fantasic news Chrisjo, thank you.

This is the perfect paint for the beginner to start with as all the thinning trial and error looked to be over whelming to a novice. So much so that it may make one give up. Not having to thin these will give me a chance to get better with the process of painting and then learning the finer arts of thinning. I could see one losing interest if they don't get it right. Thank you for the link. On the site, in addition to the, out of the bottle use, Pro-Color Acrylic Paint, they show the out of the bottle Vallejo Model Air paint line. There seem to be quite the following of the Vallejo Paints with many positive reviews.

I have been watching all of this fellows YouTube Videos and have learned quite a lot https://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p...ion_736958

I think I am going to purchase a starter set today. I am anxious to start as I have been curious about airbrushing for decades.
Purchased up a few things to get me started...

Seems like so much to learn all the thinning and testing. I love how the blades sag on the helicopter and the tarmac looks so real. That is an excellent model and great photo taking too.

If you check on Amazon there's a few brands of 'airbrush ready' paints available, the most common seems to Vallejo, they do sets of say 'German Camouflage' or other useful pre-made sets or even just sets of basic colours both in 'solid' and 'transparent' forms (the transparent ones are made to let layers of colours bleed through each other.

If you're wondering I'm about to jump on the airbrush bandwagon (after many many years of wanting to) partly because they all of a sudden seem to be much cheaper than they used to be, partly because I want one to re-paint some of my 1/16th scale R/C tanks Smile

very good setup super, with 3 guns you can have 1 for primer, 1 for color and 1 for clearcoat. without having to clean guns to switch between them. the cleaning pot is very helpful when you spray gunwash through it.
@Ripley802
Thanks

@Ucwepn
Thank you for the tip. All three guns are different though. The two gravity feed dual action brushes have 0.2mm and 0.3mm needles respectively and the single action siphon feed airbrush has a 0.8mm needle and I do like the way you think.

@Nigels
When would one want to use the transparent paint to let the colors bleed through? Maybe in weathering which is something I would like to try. I have been looking at the Vallejo basic color sets to get started. Does everyone know that Amazon, under the cover of darkness last night, raised the minimum purchase amount for free shipping from $35usd to $49usd?

I would really like to see how hard it is to do camo paint schemes. Is that what you are after for the R/C Tanks or just weathering or both?
Very nice setup you got there, I really like the mini spray booth with the turntable
Thanks Anc

Don't want to breath all that stuff and its too cold to paint outside. Here is a video on the Spray Booth but the one I ordered also has the exhaust vent and tubing accessory to vent to the outside. Also ordered a basic set of 16 Vallejo Airbrush ready paints.
