flip face thomas and remote issues

12 Replies, 13156 Views

Hello,

I have 2 of those flip face changing thomas trains and 3 Remotes.

1 Train when you turn it on via the trains on/off switch works on its own without the remote, when turned on, it stays on, and works, but when you try to use any of the 3 remotes I have, it does not control the train in any way. All 3 remotes make the sounds etc via the buttons.

2 The 2nd train, when you use the on switch from the train itself, it does not work or move at all, neither does it work via any of the 3 remotes at all.

I know the remotes have an on/off switch underneath them, they are all set too On as well.

Do these trains only work with their specific remote ? as in what they originally came with ?

I am trying to work out whether all 3 of my remotes are buggered somehow or 1 or 2 of the trains are :/

The train that does not work at all when you use the on/off switch from the train itself, has a red light the will flash when you take out or put in a battery into the train itself. So I presume it is not completely dead ?

Any thoughts or idea's ?
Yes, they only work with the the remote they are designed for. There are a couple different Thomas r/c engines, so the year can be a factor too on the train/remote. Can you post a pic of the trains and remotes so we can match them up. The flip face Thomas remote has a red grip on the handle.

I have had luck sometimes with taking the motor/gearbox out and then trying with the remote. If it work, just reassemble and sometimes that is it.
I will, it is a red handled remote, all 3 are

Once you post pics of what you have, I will re-post a pic of ALL the RC Thomas' and see if we can't match up what you're needing..
Play nice & have fun!!Smile

With my flip face set, the one train worked with the one remote that came with it in the box.
I AM NOT DEAD. Just inactive.
does any one know if you can use more than one rc engine at a time on the same layout? do they interfere with each other at all?
i would like one day to mount 2 or 3 different character remotes on a board somehow and let kids at shows control the trains.
they would be on seperate tracks with different accessories to avoid crashes. the tracks would be something like a circle within a circle within an oval or something along those lines.
thanks

Good idea. I know a few people who would like that idea.

I have ran several at a time with no issues.
thanks, ripley.

got a while yet, but i will start considering how to attach them to something without damage and that they can be removed.
